Pet (2003)

More Maynard James Keenan and Co. goodness this week, but this time with a different band – A Perfect Circle, whose line up has some overlap with that of Puscifer (see last week’s music posts to hear them).

I saw these guys perform at the Soundwave music festival in Melbourne in 2013.

Toma (2011)

It was probably inevitable that I would like Puscifer, already being a big fan of Tool and A Perfect Circle. If you’re not familiar with them, they share a singer, but beyond that they are vastly different bands.

Cavity King (2005)

This reminds me of that one time Project 86 came to Australia. I got to meet them and got my copy of one of their albums autographed. Sadly the poorly organised concert was held in a random rural area outside of Melbourne and barely advertised and when the dozen or so of us turned up to hear P86 (and some little band called MxPx who I’ve heard are rather popular) the rain poured down and the concert was cancelled. I was devastated. But still, at least I got to meet them. I suppose one day I ought to give up the bitterness. I still love their music.

More music (sorry not sorry)

I’ve got a whole lot of stuff to do today so of course I became promptly distracted with making a playlist on The Husband’s Spotify account. It started with my kids asking about a song on the tv show Horrible Histories that imitates the style and sound of Simon & Garfunkel while teaching about the Viking invasion and settlement of England.

I never did get to choose the music for the Australian music show Rage – apparently you have to be, like, actually famous or something – so I figure that if you ever wondered what I would play on Rage, here’s a sample. I’ll add more music to the Spotify playlist over time. I really ought to actually finish some housework…
