I find Amon Amarth’s music an absolute joy. This clip, too – they are the masters of synchronised headbanging. I am still kicking myself for not going out of my way to see their live concert when they were in Australia a year ago.

I am thoroughly enjoying a podcast series by Fr Timothy Gallagher. He talks about prayer, spiritual discernment, the examen, St Ignatius, contemplation and meditation. I’ve found it really helpful in understanding these concepts in a deeper way.
The podcasts can be found here and here.
Fr Gallagher’s website is here.
More Maynard James Keenan and Co. goodness this week, but this time with a different band – A Perfect Circle, whose line up has some overlap with that of Puscifer (see last week’s music posts to hear them).
I saw these guys perform at the Soundwave music festival in Melbourne in 2013.

The Art of Sarah Webb
"Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. God Himself is not secure, having given man dominion over His works! Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. The fearful are caught as often as the bold. Faith alone defends. Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable." -Helen Keller
